ELC INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS BANGKOK

‘Nothing without Joy.’ These words by Loris Malaguzzi are the heartbeat of ELC International Schools; we believe that high quality learning is a joyful, collective journey. We are committed to the image of the child as capable, powerful, and full of potential, and we create conditions for learning that empower your child to grow their own mind, strive for personal excellence, and become compassionate, impactful global citizens.

Established in 1984 and serving an international community of over 40 nationalities, ELC International Schools comprises 5 centres of excellence: three Purple Elephant toddler centres designed for children from 18-36 months in Phrom Phong and Thonglor (PE39, PE49, PE55); The Purple Elephant at Samakee, toddler and kindergarten centre in the expat town of Nichada Thani, for children 18 months to 5 year; and The City School campus for children 3 years through to 11 years, located in Thonglor.

PRODUCT & SERVICES

From our toddler centres through to primary school, our programmes help cultivate the skills, dispositions, and aspirations of children to unlock their full potential. The process of learning is valued as children participate in creative and collaborative exploration and inquiry; they build a growth mindset, develop as researchers, engage in meta-cognition and innovation, and hone those transferable skills essential to their school lives and beyond the classroom. ELC International Schools achieves this through a particular symbiosis; we follow the curricular goals of the Ontario Curriculum, while the Reggio Emilia approach to education inspires the implementation of these goals. Consistently scoring highly on the PISA scores, the Ontario Curriculum provides a rigorous academic framework whilst being flexible to allow for contextual interpretation regarding how these curricular expectations are achieved. It works in harmony with our Reggio-inspired approach in terms of the importance it places on learning through inquiry and relationships.

For children to succeed in the future, they must become expert learners, and this begins at an early age. ELC International Schools’ pedagogy of knowing and valuing your child for who they uniquely are, allows your child to grow their own mind – a strong foundation for high school programmes worldwide and for the future they choose beyond the classroom.
