BACKGROUND

Michael B. Currie leads Fling AI, a data platform for warehouses and utilities. He is a passionate advocate for the digital transformation of the supply chain and energy industries, especially in Southeast Asia. As CTO, he's a senior developer and team lead, specializing in Python, SQL, devops, and AI image processing pipelines.

He is a guest lecturer in business at Thammasat University, and a director of the Thai-Canadian Chamber of Commerce.

Michael was Executive Director of AI research group OpenWorm from 2016 to 2018.

After earning his BMath in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Waterloo in 2007, and his CFA charter, Michael began his career as a software developer and business analyst in the financial services industry, first in New York City and then in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He has been based in Asia since 2017.
